Off the Top of my Head: Activision Edition 11.17.09 - Travis

Activision paid Hans Zimmer a lot of money to do music for Modern Warfare 2 and I didn’t even notice it.

Activision’s new James Bond actor looks like a pretty boy. I hope they made him kill a transient for his screen test.

I’m a little tired of hearing about Gears of War when there is discussion of cover mechanics in a game. Winback had a cover system and Resident Evil 4 style aiming on the Nintendo 64. It also had blurry graphics, something Gears of War has yet to incorporate into its design.

Any time Activision let’s their development teams do what they want for a bit it always ends up becoming something awesome. i.e. Gun and Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare. Perhaps they should leave their talent alone more often.

Modern Warfare 2’s story makes Turok: Dinosaur Hunter the Schindler’s List of First Person Shooters. Not praised as much as Citizen Kane (Doom) but twice as revered.

I don't care about the limitations. I'm with Cory in that it's not unreasonable to wish that Nintendo's biggest Wii title for the year had online play. Nintendo certainly needs the practice. What is unreasonable? Two toads.
